THE STORY
Ramble the centipede is a librarian who travels across the forest floor lending books to her friends, only one day she comes across a rather shocking book new in to the library. The A-Z Of Beasts reveals that Ramble and her friends are not the big burly beasts they thought they were and that actually, technically, they’re minibeasts! Insulted and outraged, they go on an adventure to find the professor who wrote the book, hoping he’ll explain himself... there must be some kind of mistake! Eventually all the minibeasts come to learn how important they are – even though they may be small, they’re strong, tough, smart, mega, mighty minibeasts!

There are speaking parts for 24 children (not including the narrator part), but these can be increased to 60+ by splitting the narrator’s lines into many speaking parts and splitting the 10 minibeast speaking parts into 18, with each minibeast taking a line each. Have as many extra non-speaking minibeasts and ants as you like.
If you have a small cast, the 24 speaking parts can easily be decreased to 14 by using the following suggestions:
- Just have four minibeasts, instead of Minibeasts 1-10, and split the lines accordingly
- Just have four ants and split the lines accordingly

We Are Minibeasts is the kind of song that will be sung on the playground long after rehearsals have finished, and honestly, I’m not mad about it being stuck in my head for weeks.
